A primary care physician, or PCP, is a physician/medical doctor who provides both the first contact for a person with an undiagnosed health concern as well as continuing care of varied medical conditions, not limited by cause, organ system, or diagnosis.
One of the most respected and essential medical specialties practiced today is internal medicine. An internist must be skilled in diagnosing internal disorders including heart diseases, respiratory conditions, diabetes, cancer, thyroid disease, high blood pressure and many other conditions.
